2000 - Company founded as “Toumaz Technology”, providing products and services based on very low power wireless technology originally developed at Imperial College London.
2007 - The Sensium silicon integrated circuit, the world’s first ‘System-on-Chip (SoC)’ for low power, wearable, wireless vital signs monitoring, is developed
2010 - The SensiumVitals end-to-end system for early detection of patient deterioration undergoes first in-patient trials at St Mary’s Hospital London
2011 - SensiumVitals is FDA 510(k) cleared
2013 - CE Mark awarded for SensiumVitals
2016 - Sensium Healthcare spins out of Toumaz to become part of The Surgical Company Group
2018 - First Sensium iOS app deployed. Pilot studies completed at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, demonstrating clinical benefits for patients.
2019 -First deployment of electronic observations/ early warning score capability and integration with a Hospital Electronic Medical record (EMR)
2020 - First Sensium Android app deployed. Sensium obtains ISO27001 certification.
2020 - Sensium Healthcare gets a new identity and will now be called The Surgical Company
