10th May 2019 – SENSIUM and Ascom are delighted to announce today the signing of a Technical Partnership Agreement that will see SENSIUM’s clinically validated wireless patient deterioration detection capabilities being integrated with Ascom’s world-leading healthcare ICT and mobile workflow solutions.
The integration of technologies like SENSIUM with the Ascom Healthcare Platform will allow further realisation of Ascom’s vision to close digital information gaps allowing for the best possible decisions – anytime and anywhere. The Ascom vision complements SENSIUM’s dedication to improving patient outcomes by detecting and notifying subtle changes in patients’ vital signs, indicative of deterioration, at the earliest possible opportunity.
On signing the Technical Partnership Agreement, SENSIUM CEO, Chad Bateman, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to bring together two technologies and solutions to ensure patient deterioration is detected at the earliest possible moment by increasing the optics between observation rounds in unmonitored wards. Partnering SENSIUM’s unique ability to stream, in real time, patient vital sign data from the Sensium Patch with Ascom’s proven ability to improve healthcare workflows will contribute to more informed decisions being made and ultimately better outcomes for patients.
Commenting on the agreement, Ljubisav Matejevic, Ascom VP Global Ecosystems and Central and Eastern Europe, said it illustrated the centrality of cooperation and partnership to the success of the Ascom Healthcare Platform. “Integration and interoperability with third-party apps, technologies and systems are key to the Ascom Healthcare Platform, and its adoption by facilities around the world.” The timing of this partnership is particularly significant as SENSIUM is preparing to launch their Android capability and Ascom has recently launched the Ascom Myco™ 3 smartphone as a key part of the Ascom Healthcare Platform.
